In loving memory of

Ernesto Diaz

Portrait of Ernesto Diaz

December 30th 1961 - June 19th 2026

Ernesto “Ernie” Diaz lived life with extraordinary courage and appreciation for the people he loved.

Born in Cuba, Ernie came to the United States alone as a teenager. Through determination, resilience, and an unwavering spirit, he built a life filled with purpose in the U.S. At the center of that life was his beloved husband, Scott Evans.

Ernie did not count the years in his life; he counted the people he loved and the memories they made together.

Ernie demonstrated such courage during his battle with pancreatic cancer. He faced his diagnosis with strength and optimism. His resilience was inspirational and serves as an example of how to face life's greatest challenges with dignity and hope.

Scott extends his gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Holy Cross Cancer Institute, whose expertise and care provided comfort, hope, and support to Ernie throughout his cancer journey.

For those wishing to honor Ernie's memory, memorial donations may be made to the Holy Cross Cancer Institute in recognition of the care they provided.

While Ernie's presence will be missed, his life serves as a testament to resilience, friendship, love, and living each day to its fullest. He will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
